Downloading transactions from your bank

Step-by-step guides to downloading QFX, OFX or CSV files from the largest US banks and card issuers, to bring into a budget app without sharing your password.

HouseCrew Money doesn't connect to your bank. Instead you download a file from the bank's website, which every bank offers, and drop it in. Pick yours:

Which file is best?

  • QFX or OFX (often called Quicken, Web Connect or Microsoft Money): the best, because the file says which account it's for and what the balance is.
  • CSV (spreadsheet or Excel): works everywhere. Money asks once which column is which.
  • QIF: an older format, fine if it's all the bank offers.
  • The statement PDF: for banks with no download, or for history older than the download goes back.

Be first in line.
